Pulang, mosquitos and mom and papa

Not an hour ago I parked my mom's car in the parking lot of Grass Roots, my family's little tourist and flower/nursery shop here in rural Ottertail, MN. If Kuala Lumpur to Uptown, Minneapolis was a bit of a culture shock, downtown Chicago to Ottertail is comparable, and practically the same commute, time-wise. The sun is beating down this late afternoon, and the locals have no problem sitting for some conversation in the dusty shade.
I am home once again, though I just left home in Dinkytown this morning, for the last time as a real resident there, I am pretty sure. A couple weeks of blissful rural-ness, then it's off to Jakarta and the 5th largest metropolitan center in the world.
